Troegs Mad Elf

Tonight we're relaxing in front of the TV. Last night was great. I got to go to my third Bruins game of the season. Better yet, they won in blowout fashion. EVEN better, there were three fans of the opposing team sitting directly in front of us and I got to watch their hopes and dreams get crushed. Is that evil?

To select tonight's beer to review, I pitted my Dogfish Head Chicory Stout vs the Troegs Mad Elf and put it to vote via Twitter. The Elf stood victorious.

And I thank my twitter-buds for voting for it. It's quite delicious. The taste, as one might expect, is holidayish. Imagine yourself licking Christmas (or Hanukkah/Quanza), and that's the Mad Elf. It's spicy with the taste of cherries dominating. Note: For me cherry flavor normally = cough syrup, but not in this case.

Mouthfeel starts smooth and finishes with light tinglies on the tongue. Color is straight-up amber. My picture of the pour was intended to highlight the gorgeous head, and the beer appears darker than it is due to the angle of the shot.
